The UK Border Agency research suggests that English language skills are associated with a 20% increase in the likelihood of employment and also a greater potential for earning. English language itself is probably the single most important element in enabling diverse communities to participate.

If you wish to apply for British Citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), you need to demonstrate your knowledge of life in the United Kingdom as well as proving that yours English speaking and listening skills are adequate to cope with everyday life.

The amount of time needed to learn a language can vary considerably and there is no minimum course length for the ESOL Skills for Life qualification.

Our course combines English Language (ESOL) with Citizenship. An experienced teacher assesses all students at the time of enrolment. The courses are for those students who have a standard of English below Entry 3. If you are not sure what your level of English is, we will arrange a free diagnostic assessment for you.

This course provides a valid route for gaining UK citizenship and offers an alternative to completing the Life in the UK test.

The ESOL for Citizenship course will help you to:

  • Improve your English
  • Prepare you for the B1 qualification in Speaking and Listening
  • Learn more about life in the UK in order to facilitate effective integration
Remember you are required to have an approved B1 Speaking and Listening Qualification and take the Life in the UK Test, this minimum qualification will also help you fit into British way of life and be able to communicate in English, at home, at work or wherever you go.
